Yoga, Mindfulness & Psychotherapy

As an instructor and student of yoga, my appreciation of the benefits mindfulness and bodily awareness grows daily. That influence naturally flows into my work as a therapist, especially when helping clients to manage anxiety and mood disorders and to address body image.

I’ve seen firsthand how mindfulness and body awareness can help people feel more grounded, in control, and less reactive.  Mindfulness helps us develop practical tools to navigate stress, regulate emotions, and build a stronger, more connected sense of self.

With most of my clients, developing mindfulness tools to calm anxiety and regulate mood is integrated into the therapy experience. If you are already a yogi, processing your experiences on the mat can help you integrate the mindfulness you find in your practice to daily life. I would love to hear more about your yoga experiences, what you’ve learned about yourself, and how your practice nurtures a dialogue with the part of you that tends to your overall self-care.
